Ekal Abhiyan's Grand National Sport Event Scheduled to Begin on Jan 19
The national sports competition 'Ekal Abhiyan' is set to kick off on January 19, featuring 1200 players from 30 states. Mr. Vishnudev Sai, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, will inaugurate the event at Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Vidypeeth Kridangan, Law College Square, near Nagpur. Organized by Ekal Abhiyan to promote sports in rural areas and identify talents among tribal youth, the competition is part of the Gram Swaraj Yojana’s Abhyuday Youth Club.
During a press briefing, Mr. Madhavendra Singh, Ekal Abhiyan’s National Coordinator, announced the participation of players in various events such as sprinting, long jump, high jump, kabaddi, wrestling, and yoga.
The competition will commence with the 'Khel Jyoti Yatra' on January 19, starting from Ram Nagar Chowk and concluding at Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Vidypeeth Kridangan. The inauguration ceremony on January 20 will be conducted by Mr. Vishnu Dev Sai, with notable guests including Mr. Indra Dev Narayan, Mr. Vishal Agrawal, and Mr. Subhash Choudhary.
The awards distribution ceremony on January 21 will have Mr. Nitin Gadkari as the chief guest, Mr. Sudhir Munagantiwar as the program president, and Mr. Nandu Sarada as a special guest. The concluding ceremony on January 22 will feature Mr. Sanjay Dudhe, Mrs. Pramila Tai Mendhe, and Mrs. Chitra Tai Joshi.
Ekal Abhiyan, founded in 1989, has been actively contributing to nation-building by establishing schools in remote forest areas. The organization has successfully set up 102,052 schools, providing primary education, health education, character education, awareness education, and development education across India.
