Eleven-time national champion Jagan Kumar rides to fulfill his dreams
After dominating Indian circuits for around 15 years, renowned rider Jagan Kumar chose to put his bike in the garage for good, and it has been an emotional period for him.
The Chennai racer decided to retire with fulfillment as the primary emotion after taking a brief pause to reflect on his future career after winning his 11th national motorcycle racing title last month.
"It was my final year of racing." I'm going to retire. For years, I had been doing the same thing in every season. I'm 36 now, too. This seems sufficient to me. I've completed everything. "I have accomplished everything," the multiple champion declared.
As the only provider for his family of five, Jagan's journey has been amazing. His father was an autorickshaw driver. Jagan was always fascinated by the sound and speed of motorcycles while growing up in the backstreets of Chennai's busy Mylapore and Triplicane neighborhoods. However, the eventual 11-time national champion came from a humble upbringing and could never purchase one of those finely-tuned motorcycles.
