Emergency Shutdown of Kanhan Water Treatment Plant Due to Power Failure
Nagpur, India: The Kanhan Water Treatment Plant (WTP) in Nagpur experienced an emergency shutdown on the morning of August 31, 2024, due to a power supply failure. The issue arose from a blast in the Y and B phase Potential Transformers (PT) in the 33 kV Express Feeder HT Cubicle at around 10:00 AM, leading to a complete power outage at the plant.
