E-Waste Collection Drive Launched by NGO Prayas to Boost Environmental Conservation

Vidarbha, Yavatmal, India: The non-governmental organization (NGO) Prayas has initiated an e-waste collection drive by personally reaching out to individuals through phone calls. Prayas is widely recognized for its ongoing commitment to environmental conservation through various programs.

One of Prayas major initiatives is the development of an Oxygen Park on the outskirts of the city, which is part of its environmental conservation efforts. The organization has now shifted its focus to addressing the issue of e-waste.

Assistant Municipal Commissioner Sumant More recently inaugurated the e-waste collection center. Prayas president, Dr. Vijay Kawalkar, stated that the campaign will run until the end of the month. The NGO has also introduced a contest for different groups, with outstanding participants to be honored by distinguished guests at a special event.

The municipal administration has supported the initiative by providing a collection center at Mahatma Phule Municipal Council High School. Additionally, their staff has actively participated in the awareness campaign as part of the program. Prayas has appealed to residents to gather and bring e-waste from their localities to the designated collection center.

The inauguration event was attended by several Prayas activists, including Nagesh Kapate, Dr. Vijay Kawalkar, Sudha Patel, Dr. Vijaya Kawalkar, Manik Mehre, Amogh Vora, Sudheer Ghorgade, Raju Jain, Vasant Upaganalawar, Pramod Yadao, Mahendra Gulhane, Mukesh Patawa, and Nitin Komalwar.
