Fake Reinstatement Letter Approved by Officials, Say Teachers in Complaint

Nagpur, India: In a related controversy, a headmaster of Kidwai High School and Junior College was reinstated to his post despite being found guilty of multiple offences, including collecting money from teachers and making unauthorised appointments.

An inquiry committee had found Majeed Pathan, the headmaster, guilty of corruption, extortion, and misconduct towards female staff members. A criminal case was registered, and the matter reached court, which placed a stay on any appointments. Still, Pathan allegedly drafted his own reinstatement letter using official letterhead — a move later approved by the then Education Officer.

On Saturday, several teachers and staff members — including Sagir Ahmed, Firoz Khan, Mohd Asrar, Ejaz Khan, Ayesha Tarannum, Yasmin Bano, Swaleha Tabassum, and Asma Khan — filed a formal complaint with the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) against:

  • The Deputy Director of Education (Nagpur Division)

  • Assistant Deputy Director

  • Junior Administrative Officer

  • Education Deputy Inspector

  • Zilla Parishad Education Officer

  • Majeed Pathan (Headmaster)

  • Parvez (School Advocate)

  • Two other officials from the Education Department

The teachers have called for a thorough investigation and strict legal action, citing the illegal reinstatement as a clear breach of rules while a case was still pending.
