Farmers in Washim Taluka Advised to Finish e-KYC for Government Assistance Following Crop Losses

Vidarbha, Washim, India: Farmers in Washim taluka have experienced significant crop damage due to unseasonal rains in November 2023. Although the government has announced financial aid for those affected, many farmers cannot access this assistance because they have not completed their e-KYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) verification.

Washim Tehsildar Nilesh Palaskar has urged farmers to complete their e-KYC as soon as possible to qualify for the compensation. Farmers in Washim taluka have suffered substantial losses as their Rabi crops, including wheat, gram, and sorghum, were severely damaged by the unseasonal rains.

The government has promised prompt relief through compensation. However, many farmers may miss out on this essential aid if they do not complete the necessary e-KYC process. e-KYC is essential for farmers to claim compensation, and without completing this process, they will be ineligible for financial aid.

“Farmers who have not yet completed their e-KYC should promptly visit their village panchayat's Setu Kendra to do so. This will help ensure timely compensation for those who qualify,” stated Tehsildar Nilesh Palaskar.

The e-KYC process is simple. Farmers just need to visit their nearest Setu Kendra with their Aadhaar card and bank account details to complete it, free of charge. Government officials have been proactively educating farmers about the importance of e-KYC and urging them to complete the process without delay.

“It is our duty to ensure that every affected farmer receives government assistance. However, it is crucial for farmers to complete the e-KYC process to access this aid. I urge them not to delay in completing it,” said Tehsildar Palaskar.
