Father Arrested for Sexually Abusing 4.5-Year-Old Daughter

Nagpur, India: A 34-year-old man sexually abused his 4.5-year-old daughter. This incident came to light when the young victim told her mother about her father's physical acts. It has reportedly been happening for the last few days. On December 4, after an argument, the father left home with his daughter and took her to places where he had taken undue advantage of being alone with her.
After returning home, the young victim informed her mother about her father's behavior while they were away. The mother quickly rushed her daughter to a neighbor, as she was unable to believe what she had heard and was confused about what to do next. A social worker heard the minor's story and filed the FIR with the victims mother.
The report was forwarded to the Child Protection Department and the child helpline desk, which swiftly took action with the Mankapur police station under the supervision of DCP Lohit Matani. The police promptly took the father into custody and ensured the victim's safety. A medical examination of the minor was conducted immediately.
The police told the media that a 4.5-year-old child could not understand the seriousness of the incident; however, she spoke openly in front of the police and officials from the Women and Child Development Department.
An investigation is underway.
