Fire Breaks Out in Amravati's New Cotton Market, Causing Major Losses

A massive fire broke out at New Cotton Market on Morshi Road in Amravati at 4:40 pm on Thursday, destroying three vegetable shops. The fire started in Sheikh Akbar’s shop No 14, Shankar Kharkar’s shop No 13, and Gajanan Lakde’s shop No 12.
The fire is believed to have been triggered by a spark from welding work in one of the shops, which spread to nearby shops filled with garlic and onions. The flames quickly escalated, causing significant damage.
The fire brigade responded swiftly, with two fire tenders arriving on the scene to control the fire within half an hour. City Kotwali Police Inspector Manohar Kotnake also attended the scene with other officers.
Although the fire was controlled, the damage was substantial, with vegetable stocks worth lakhs of rupees destroyed. Traders in the market voiced concerns about the lack of fire extinguishers and have called for financial assistance for those affected by the fire.
