Nagpur: Five people lost their lives, while four others sustained serious injuries in three separate road accidents across Maharashtra on Friday.
Three Killed in Car Accident Near Selu
Selu: A tragic accident occurred on the Selu-Wardha Highway when a car overturned on the Selu bypass around 1 am on Friday. Three young men—Sameer Prashant Chute (27), Shubham Meshram (28), and Sushil Maske (29) from Sindi Meghe near Wardha—lost their lives. The car driver, Dhanraj Bhimrao Dhabarde (38), was seriously injured and has been admitted to a private hospital in Nagpur.
The group was returning from a birthday celebration in Nagpur when the driver lost control of the car (MH-14/GS-9215), causing it to overturn and crash. Shubham Meshram and Sushil Maske died on the spot, while Sameer Chute succumbed to injuries on the way to the hospital.
Police arrived at the scene, conducted a panchnama, and sent the bodies for post-mortem. The case has been registered with Selu Police, and an investigation is underway.
One Killed, One Injured in Thar Crash Near Buldhana
Buldhana: A speeding Mahindra Thar crashed into a truck near Fardapur on the Mumbai Corridor (Channel No. 288.8), killing one person and injuring another.
The accident took place when the truck (MH-12/NX-3193) in front of the Thar suddenly braked, causing the speeding vehicle (GJ-01/WP-1661) to collide with it. The Thar’s owner, Hemal Jagdish Mehta (44), suffered a severe head injury and died on the spot. Alisha Sinha (26) sustained a fractured left hand and was taken to a hospital in Mehkar for treatment.
The other passengers, Shraddha Sinha (25) and driver Shashikant Lalchand Vishwakarma (34), escaped unhurt. Upon receiving information, Police Sub-Inspector Gajanan Ujjainkar and local residents rushed to the scene and helped shift the injured to the hospital.
One Dead, Two Injured in Head-On Bike Collision in Risod
Risod: A head-on collision between two motorcycles on the Risod-Lonar road near Chakoli village resulted in the death of one man and injuries to two others, including a 12-year-old girl.
The accident occurred at 10:15 am when Amol Tukaram Ghodke (32), a resident of Idoli, Hingoli district, was riding towards Lonar on his motorcycle (MH-15/GH-0060). His bike, which was reportedly in the wrong lane, collided with another motorcycle (MH-29/BA-5932) being ridden by Sheikh Ahmed Sheikh Moin (35), who was accompanied by 12-year-old Alia Parveen Sheikh Tofiq.
Amol Ghodke died on the spot, while Sheikh Ahmed and the girl sustained serious injuries. They were initially taken to a local hospital for first aid and later shifted to Washim for further treatment.
Risod Police, led by Sub-Inspector Vasant Tahkik, reached the scene to conduct an investigation. The injured have been admitted to the Rural Hospital in Risod, and further inquiries are ongoing.
