Three Arrested in Brutal Murder of Ajay Vijay Wankhade in Gondia
Vidarbha, Gondia, India: The Crime Branch Unit-1 of Amravati City police has apprehended three suspects and detained a juvenile in connection with the murder of Ajay Vijay Wankhade. The incident was discovered on a farm along Anjangaon Bari Road, which falls under the jurisdiction of Badnera Police Station, on October 7. The arrested individuals have been identified as Akash Vasant Chavan, Nikhil Thakre, and Salman Khan.
According to reports, the accused lured Vijay Wankhade from the Hindu crematorium to Anjangaon Bari Road, where they subsequently killed him with a sharp weapon. During the investigation, police received a tip-off about the main suspect, Akash Chavan, being in the Hamalpura area. Acting on this information, officers set a trap and successfully apprehended him.
During his interrogation, Akash revealed that Nikhil Thakre from Rajura, Salman Khan from Haiderpura, and a juvenile were also involved in the crime. Following this information, police arrested Nikhil Thakre and Salman Khan while detaining the juvenile.
Akash is known as a notorious criminal who frequently changes his residences. The other suspect, Ganesh Shinde, originally hails from Satara. The operation was conducted by the Crime Branch Police, including inspectors Gorakhnath Jadhav and Babarao Avchar, along with Assistant Police Inspectors (APIs) Manish Wakode and Mahesh Ingole, and Police Sub-Inspectors (PSIs) Prakash Zopate and Sanjay Wankhade.
This action was carried out under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Navinchandra Reddy, along with Deputy Commissioners of Police Kalpana Barawkar and Sagar Patil, and Assistant Commissioners of Police Shivaji Bachate and Kailas Pundkar.
