Nagpur, India: On Monday, Additional Sessions Judge N.H. Jadhav sentenced four men to double life imprisonment for the murder of Amin Sayyed Ali in Jai Hind Nagar, Mankapur. Among the convicted is Amin's brother, Asif Ali Sayyed Ali, who conspired with three others to kill him over a property dispute.
The convicted individuals include:
- Asif Ali Sayyed Ali (40), brother of the victim
- Javid Khan Habib Khan (35)
- Ramij Khan Hafiz Khan (25)
- Sadique Khan Abid Khan (26)
According to the prosecution, Amin Sayyed Ali (41) and his brother Asif lived in the same house but separately with their families. A dispute over their shared property led to escalating tensions, with prior complaints lodged with the police.
On August 10, 2020, Asif Ali, along with his in-laws Javid Khan, Ramij Khan, and Sadique Khan, arrived at the victim's house around 9:30 p.m. Armed with metallic pipes and a knife, they brutally attacked Amin on the street outside his home. Amin was rushed to Mayo Hospital but was pronounced dead.
Following a complaint by Amin’s wife, Aliya, the police arrested Asif and the three others on August 12, 2020. The investigation, led by PSI Yuwraj Pran Sahare, used CCTV footage and other evidence to build a case against the four accused.
During the trial, 34 witnesses were examined. The court found the charges under Sections 302 (murder), 34 (common intention), and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) to be proven. The court sentenced all four men to double life imprisonment and imposed fines of ₹50,000 for each offence. Both life sentences will run concurrently.
