Four Youngsters Critically Injured in Collision Between Maruti Alto and Trailer on Wadi Road
Nagpur, India: Four young individuals sustained critical injuries in a severe crash on Wadi Road, near the MIDC police station, on November 8. The collision, which occurred between a Maruti Alto car and a trailer, led to significant traffic disruption on MIDC Wadi Road for almost an hour.
According to the police, the Maruti Alto (MH-40/AR-5996) was heading from Wadi to Hingna when it crashed into a trailer in front of it. The driver of the Alto lost control after the trailer made a sudden turn.
The car collided with the back of the trailer and became stuck underneath it. Although the trailer driver braked immediately, the car had already sustained significant damage by that time.
The four young passengers in the car were seriously injured, with blood flowing from their heads. Bystanders stopped to assist and notified the police.
Senior Police Inspector Mahesh Chavan and his team from the MIDC police station arrived at the scene and initiated a rescue operation. Two of the injured youths were found unconscious and were quickly taken to a nearby hospital.
At the time of the report, the identities of the youths had not been determined, and the police were still investigating. A senior police official mentioned that the youths did not anticipate the trailer’s sudden turn, which resulted in the crash.
Local residents have expressed concerns about the dangerous turns made by heavy vehicles on the road, which often lead to accidents. In the meantime, the Alto was heavily damaged, with its roof and windshield crushed. It remained lodged under the trailer for an hour before being extricated.
