Fraudsters Booked for Illegal Sale of Senior Citizen’s Land for Rs 33 Lakh
Nagpur, India: On Thursday, police booked three individuals for allegedly defrauding a senior citizen by illegally selling his plot to a couple for Rs 33 lakh using forged documents.
The accused have been identified as Purshottam Bhaiyyaji Tupat, a resident of Kamptee near Bajrang Park Hanuman Mandir; Praveen Moreshwar Sahare, a resident of Zingabai Takli; and Pranay Dheeraj Ghatole, a resident of Gittikhadan.
The victim, 71-year-old Vijay Raosaheb Sarade, lives at Plot No. 5, Prabhadevi Apartment, Somalwada. He purchased Plot No. 6 in Osho Puram Society, Mouza Dabha, in 1992, with the sale deed properly executed in his name. However, between 1993 and 2023, the accused trio allegedly created a fake sale deed for Sarade's plot and sold it to Laxman Lanjewar and Kalpana Laxman Lanjewar for Rs 33 lakh.
Following Sarade’s complaint, the police have registered a case against the three accused under Sections 420 (cheating), 456 (house trespass), 467 (forgery of valuable security), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating), 471 (using a forged document as genuine), and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
