Friend Turns Killer Over Girl: Youth Brutally Murdered in Dhantoli, Nagpur
Nagpur, India: A feud between two friends over a girl culminated in the brutal murder of a 21-year-old youth in Nagpur's Dhantoli area. The incident occurred late Tuesday night near the Takia locality.
The victim, Lucky alias Karan Rajesh Naykar, was attacked by his friend Kunal Raut (22), along with Kunal’s wife Kajal Raut, his brother-in-law Yogesh Kowe, and their friend Rupesh Waghade. The Dhantoli police have held all four.
Once close friends, Lucky and Kunal had a falling out two years ago over a girl. Their rivalry intensified over time, with frequent arguments.
In a prior incident during last year’s Dussehra festival, Lucky assaulted Kunal, leading to a police complaint against him. The arrest deeply affected Lucky, as his father suffered a fatal heart attack during the ordeal. Lucky blamed Kunal for his father's death and often harassed him, especially under the influence of alcohol.
Lucky went for a walk after dinner on the night of the incident. Around 11 PM, he began shouting abuses at Kunal's house. To control the situation, Kunal suggested they discuss the matter behind the Indian Gymkhana ground.
Lucky’s brother Himanshu and a friend, Dadu Yadav, grew concerned when Lucky did not return home. They searched and found him with Kunal on the ground. Lucky assured them he would return soon, so they waited nearby.
Lucky and Kunal's argument turned into violence when Kunal’s wife Kajal, brother-in-law Yogesh, and friend Rupesh join. Kunal stabbed Lucky with a knife, while the others attacked him with bricks and bare hands.
Himanshu and Dadu tried to intervene but were overpowered and forced to retreat. When they returned with help, they found Lucky lying in a pool of blood. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Dhantoli police have registered a murder case and held the four accused.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are interrogating the accused to uncover further details about the incident.
