From January 16th to 19th, Maharashtra's Top Young Volleyball Players to Compete in Nagpur

The Maharashtra State Youth & Junior Volleyball Championship (Under 21 & 18) is set to take place from 16th to 19th January 2025 at Samarth Vyayam Shala in Rana Pratap Nagar, Nagpur. This prestigious event will bring together young volleyball players from across the state, competing in both the boys' and girls' categories.

Founded in 1976, Samarth Vyayam Shala has long been a hub for promoting sports, particularly volleyball, in Nagpur. Over the years, the club has grown from a small group to an influential organization, contributing significantly to the development of the sport in the region. The championship marks the first time it will be hosted in Vidarbha, showcasing the region’s growing prominence in Indian volleyball.

Samarth Vyayam Shala has a proud history of organizing successful tournaments, such as the State Level Invitational Volleyball Tournament (1994-95), Vidarbha Level Volleyball Tournament (1995-96), and the Junior National Volleyball Championship (2008-09). Many players from the club have gone on to represent Maharashtra and India at national and international events, further establishing the club’s reputation.

Notable players from Samarth Vyayam Shala, such as Priyanka Khedkar, Sourabh Rokde, and Prajakta Tale, have made a significant mark in the sport, with several of them competing at both the national and international levels. The event will provide a platform for young talent to showcase their skills and make their way into competitive volleyball circles.

The Maharashtra State Youth & Junior Volleyball Championship will not only highlight the skills of promising players but also raise awareness and interest in the sport in the Vidarbha region. The event has been made possible with the support of various sponsors, dignitaries, and volunteers, who are committed to its success.
