Gadchiroli Police Seize Illicit Liquor Worth 12 Lakh, Two Arrested
Vidarbha, Gadchiroli, India: The Gadchiroli police local crime branch (LCB) seized two vehicles that were carrying illicit liquor from a local seller. The total value of the seized liquor and other items amounted to 12 lakh.
While patrolling, the LCB team received information that Akash Bharadkar, a liquor seller from Gokulnagar in Gadchiroli, was illegally transporting country made and foreign liquor from Brahmapuri (Chandrapur district) with the help of his accomplice, Roshan Lokhande. They were supplying the liquor to Manoj Mujumdar and Krishna Mujumdar.
Acting on this information, the police set up a trap near Poreddiwar Engineering College, Bodli, on Dhanora Road. They stopped and searched two vehicles, discovering 130 boxes of country liquor. Akash Bhaurao Bharadkar from Gokulnagar and Roshan Haridas Lokhande from Umred were arrested. A case was also filed against liquor sellers Manoj Mujumdar from Etapalli and Krishna Mujumdar from Kasansur.
The operation was carried out under the leadership of PI Ulhas Bhusari, with the assistance of API Rahul Awhad and staff members Prashant Garphade, Namdev Bhatarkar, and Deepak Lotane.
