Gang War in Central Jail Among Two Groups over a Lewd Comment
Nagpur, India- A gang war broke out in Central Jail on Tuesday morning after a cellmate made a rude comment about one of the prisoners' girlfriends. During the fight, inmates attacked each other and broke two TV sets. Two inmates were injured during this gang war.
According to Dhantoli Police, two groups in the jail were involved in this war. The main troublemakers were Mohd Sakib Ansari (20), Mehbub Mohd Masut (38), Saddam Khan Aziz Khan (31), who are all accused of murder, and Vrushabh Chandrashekhar Kawle (23), accused of theft. They fought with Suraj Gangadhar Karlewar (46), Lokesh alias Lucky Ashok Gupta (24), and Shoeb alias Jony Said Sheikh (24), also accused of murder, in Barrack Number 2 of 'Badi Gol'.
The trouble started when Sakib Ansari made a harsh comment about Lokesh Gupta's girlfriend on Sunday night. Suraj Karlewar then threatened Sakib and his friends. On Tuesday morning, Sakib Ansari, Vrushabh Kawale, and Mohd Masut attacked Suraj Karlewar with makeshift weapons. Karlewar was badly injured but managed to fight back. This led to intense violence between the groups.
In the chaos, two TV sets were broken, and Sakib's group was beaten by Karlewar and his friends. Jail staff intervened and moved the accused to another barrack to keep things under control. The injured Karlewar was taken to the Jail Hospital for treatment. Dhantoli Police arrived in the evening to check the situation, and charges were filed against those involved.
