Goods Train Derailment in Telangana Disrupts Nagpur Travel Services
Nagpur, India: The derailment of a goods train between Raghavapuram and Ramagundam, near Peddapalli district in Telangana, on November 12 has significantly impacted multiple trains, especially those connecting the southern and northern parts of the country.
This disruption has caused significant inconvenience, resulting in the cancellation of many trains and the rerouting of others. A long line formed at the enquiry counter at Nagpur railway station as passengers sought updates on train delays, diversions, and alternative travel options.
Officers from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and other railway personnel were actively managing the crowd at the station, with some handling the long line and others assisting passengers seated on the platforms.
Satish Kumar, a Delhi resident visiting his family in Nagpur, stood in the queue, visibly frustrated. He pointed out that although many websites and apps provide railway information, none of them offered accurate, real time updates in this situation. “We have no choice but to wait in this long line for information,” he remarked.
Prerna Gupta, standing in line with her sister, mentioned that her family was waiting on the platform and was surprised by the long queue at the enquiry counter. “We’re on our way to a wedding in Gwalior, so we have plenty of bags and heavy luggage, which makes it difficult to manage,” she explained, adding that her family, particularly the young children, couldn’t stay seated on the platform for too long.
