Gopal Bawankule's Bold Facebook Post Stirs Tensions Within BJP in Nagpur

Nagpur, India: Amid the ongoing model code of conduct, tensions are escalating within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as members voice their frustrations over election campaign strategies. The internal activities and discussions among party workers have intensified, particularly after a recent Facebook post by senior party member Gopal Bawankule.

In his post, Gopal Bawankule highlighted his long-standing service to the BJP, listing the various roles he has held over the years, including President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha for West Nagpur, Vice President of Yuva Morcha for Nagpur City, General Secretary of both the Slum Front and OBC Front in West Nagpur. He also served as Secretary of the BJP’s West Nagpur unit and Booth Chief for Telangkhedi Ward 281.

Despite his dedicated service, Bawankule expressed dissatisfaction with the party’s candidate selection process for the West Nagpur constituency. He emphasized that the party should nominate a candidate who has consistently addressed the concerns of the workers and the people, specifically naming Sandeep Dada Joshi as the ideal choice.

“If Sandeep Dada Joshi, who has a strong reputation for social work and public service, is not given the ticket, I will resign and continue as a regular party worker,” Bawankule declared.

His statement has sent shockwaves through the BJP office in Nagpur, with many party members rallying in support of Bawankule’s call for Joshi’s candidacy. The public in Nagpur has also shown significant support for his stance, adding further pressure on the party’s leadership ahead of the upcoming elections.
