Gorewada and Maharajbagh Experience Huge Crowd of Nature Enthusiasts

Gorewada and Maharajbagh have been really popular among nature lovers lately. There were two days off in a row, Tuesday and Wednesday, because of Independence Day and Parsi New Year’s Day. This caused a lot of people to visit two famous places where you can see animals and nature: Balasaheb Thackeray Gorewada International Zoological Park and Maharajbagh Zoo.

The Gorewada Zoological Park is managed by a group called the Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra (FDCM). In just two days, they made more than Rs 13.51 lakhs because over 3,500 people came to visit. This is a record for them. Usually, they make around Rs 50,000 every day, but on weekends, it's over Rs 1 lakh. But during these two special days, they made a lot more money.

The director of the park, Shatanik Bhagwat, said that many people had already booked their tickets online, but there were also a lot of people who came and waited in a long line to buy tickets at the entrance. Because of the big crowd, they had to tell people to come back later in the day. Gorewada has become a really popular place to visit, and more and more people are coming every year.

Similarly, at Maharajbagh Zoo, around 20,000 people visited on Tuesday. Adults had to pay Rs 30 to get in, and kids had to pay Rs 15. Lots of vehicles came to the zoo, and by 10 am, the parking was already full, so some vehicles had to be parked outside. The person in charge of the zoo, Dr Sunil Bawaskar, said that having small, affordable zoos like Maharajbagh is important because they give people a chance to see animals and nature up close. The zoo is in the middle of the city and is really pretty. Ramesh Thakur, who takes care of the zoo, mentioned that more people tend to visit on big national holidays like Independence Day and Republic Day.
