Nagpur, India: Governor and Chancellor C.P. Radhakrishnan has directed all universities in Maharashtra to streamline their academic schedules and ensure timely announcements. He instructed universities to declare session-wise exam dates in advance and release results within 30 days. Additionally, convocation dates should also be announced ahead of time.

The governor issued these directives while reviewing the operations of Gondwana University, Gadchiroli, and Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University. During the meeting, Vice-Chancellor Dr Prashant Bokare presented an overview of both universities' functioning.

Radhakrishnan emphasised several key initiatives for Gondwana University, including increasing enrolment of tribal students, implementing the ‘Earn and Learn’ scheme, developing a new academic campus, creating job opportunities through university programmes, collaborating with agricultural universities, and documenting traditional tribal knowledge.

Dr Bokare also highlighted the university’s efforts in implementing the National Education Policy, introducing skill-based courses, improving hostel facilities, setting up a student grievance redressal cell, and promoting initiatives like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and ‘Viksit Bharat’.
