Group Captain Shiv Kumar Appointed as Commander of Air Force Station Sonegaon
Nagpur, India: Group Captain Shiv Kumar officially took over as the Commanding Officer of Air Force Station Sonegaon in Nagpur. A formal Handing Over-Taking Over ceremony was held to mark the occasion.
Group Captain Shiv Kumar, an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, was commissioned into the Indian Air Force (IAF) on June 19, 1999, in the Helicopter stream. He is a qualified Flying Instructor and Experimental Test Pilot, boasting over 4,500 hours of operational and instructional flying experience.
Throughout his career, Group Captain Shiv Kumar has held various operational and instructional positions. He has served as an instructor at the Basic Flying Training School and has participated in a United Nations mission in Sudan. Additionally, he has commanded a frontline helicopter unit. Before taking command of Air Force Station Sonegaon, he was responsible for helicopter operations in the Eastern Air Command.
