Guardian Minister Bawankule Approves ₹227 Crore Plan for Nag Bhavan

Nag Bhavan, the official residence for state ministers in Nagpur, is set to undergo a major transformation. Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has approved a proposal to construct an eight-storey (G+7) building at the site with a budget of ₹227 crore. This approval clears the way for the project to be included in the state government’s budget.
Nag Bhavan, managed by the Public Works Department (PWD), serves as a rest house for ministers and senior officials during legislative sessions. Every year, a significant amount is spent on its maintenance. To modernise the premises, the new building will be constructed over an area of 17,025 square feet and will feature state-of-the-art facilities. The first to sixth floors will have four rooms each, providing a total of 24 VIP rooms. The ground floor will include a separate office, bedroom, living room, and parking space. Additionally, the complex will have advanced security systems to ensure safety.
Apart from accommodations, the new Nag Bhavan will offer various amenities such as a reception room, lobby, lawn, conference hall, waiting area, auditorium, and four multipurpose halls. To enhance comfort, a coffee shop and a gymnasium will also be built. These upgrades aim to provide better facilities for ministers and officials, ensuring a comfortable and secure environment during legislative sessions.
