"He Himself Is a Copy," Devendra Fadnavis Fires Back at Kharge’s Remark
Nagpur, India: In a sharp response to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's indirect criticism of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated on Monday, November 11, that "Congress and its president do not like the saffron colour" and accused the party of being against religious traditions.
Kharge, during the ‘Samvidhan Bachao Sammelan’ event on Sunday, took a veiled jab at leaders “in the guise of sadhus,” who have entered politics and even become chief ministers, alluding to Yogi Adityanath, who is also the head priest of the Gorakhnath Math in Gorakhpur.
In an interview with India TV, Fadnavis defended the symbolism of saffron, describing it as central to Sanatan Dharma and Hindutva. “This is the saffron of Sanatan, the saffron of India. Congress cannot undermine it," he stated confidently.
Kharge also accused Devendra Fadnavis of copying one of the congress schemes and naming it "Ladki Bahin Yojna," in response to this statement, Fadnavis said, "He is a Copy". You can see exclusive interview in Nagpur Trends Instagram.
Expressing faith in his strong voter support in Nagpur’s South West Assembly constituency, Fadnavis added, “People will elect me for the sixth time because of the work my family and I have done. The public’s support is evident.”
Fadnavis also criticized the Congress party's manifesto, calling it untrustworthy based on a history of unfulfilled promises. "Congress’s record is so poor that people don’t trust them anymore," he said, emphasizing that voters are unlikely to believe in the party’s pledges
