Heatwave Claims Two Lives in Nagpur: Authorities on Alert
Nagpur, India - Nagpur known for its scorching summers, witnessed a tragic turn of events as the mercury soared to a staggering 41.2 degrees Celsius. This intense heatwave has led to two fatalities within the city limits, signaling a concerning start to the summer season.
Preliminary reports indicate that both deaths are attributed to heatstroke, a condition exacerbated by the relentless heat. One incident was reported under the jurisdiction of Beltarodi, while the other fell under the purview of Tehsil Police Station.
While awaiting confirmation from the Death Audit Committee of the Municipal Corporation, authorities are urging caution and vigilance. Until the exact causes are determined, the deaths are tentatively linked to the severe heatwave gripping the region.
On April 1st, tragedy struck when an unconscious individual, believed to be around 50 years old, was discovered near the residence of Barde in Gharhari village, Beltarodi area. Despite immediate medical attention at AIIMS hospital, the individual was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Similarly, another individual, aged 55 and unidentified, was found in distress near Pachapavali - 1 gate within Tehsil limits. Despite efforts to save him at Mayoto, doctors sadly confirmed his passing.
In response to these incidents, authorities, led by Prosecutor Raju Kashinath Kshirsagar, have launched investigations, registering cases with both the Beltarodi and Tehsil police stations. With the heatwave showing no signs of abating, residents are urged to take necessary precautions to stay safe during this challenging period.
