Heavy Rain Expected in Vidarbha, Including Nagpur
Nagpur,India- The weather department has forecast continuous rainfall in Vidarbha, including Nagpur. So far, the rain has been mild, but it is expected to be light to moderate for the next two days, with heavy rain likely from July 7 onward.
Currently, weather systems across Maharashtra and other parts of the country, including the Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO), are causing monsoon rains from both the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal to affect Maharashtra and Vidarbha. This is expected to bring heavy rainfall soon.
Over the past eight to ten days, the monsoon has been active, but heavy rain has been mostly absent, except for a significant downpour on the night of June 30. Since then, the intensity of the rain has decreased. There has been continuous rain, but it has not been very heavy.
On Wednesday night, July 3, there was significant rainfall, totalling 31.1 mm by 5 am. However, Thursday saw only drizzles, which lowered the daytime temperature to 30.9 degrees Celsius in Nagpur. The weather department forecasts moderate rainfall for the next two days.
Due to the weather systems and the MJO, heavy rains are expected to start on July 7. The weather department is closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates.
Residents of Vidarbha, including Nagpur, should stay informed about the latest weather forecasts and take necessary precautions to stay safe during the expected heavy rainfall.
