Preliminary reports from the Talathi of Bharatwada, Punapur, and Somalwada reveal that the floodwaters swept away three individuals. Bhojraj Dulichand Patel, a 52-year-old resident of Shyamnagar, Punapur, fell into a nullah and was carried away. The third victim, 11-year-old Shravan Vijay Tulsikar from Mohan Nagar in Bharatwada, was playing near a nullah when he was swept away and is still missing.

East Nagpur MLA Krishna Khopde visited the affected areas and met with the families of Patle and Tulsikar. In light of the ongoing heavy rains and an Orange Alert issued by the India Meteorological Department, District Collector Dr Vipin Itankar has declared a holiday for all schools, colleges, and anganwadis on Monday. This decision aims to ensure safety as the rains are expected to disrupt traffic. The holiday applies to students, with individual institutions to decide whether their staff will also have the day off, as per Section 25 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
