Hit-and-Run Kills 10-Month-Old in Shanti Nagar
Nagpur, India: A reckless car driver rammed into a family riding a two-wheeler, injuring the husband, wife, and their two children, and then ran away from the scene. The 10-month-old child was killed in the hit-and-run accident on Mehndibagh Road, near Shanti Nagar Police Station.
According to the police, the accident took place around 11:30 pm when Sheikh Mushtaq Sheikh Moin (33), a resident of RK Layout, Mazri, was on his way home with his wife, Muskan Anjum, and their children, Mirzan (7 years old) and Munahid Sheikh (10 months). They had spent the evening at Muskan’s parents' house in Shanti Nagar.
While crossing the road near the Satranjipura Zone Office, a black car came up from behind and crashed forcefully into their two-wheeler (MH-49/CB-7746). Mushtaq and Mirzan suffered minor injuries, but Muskan and baby Munahid were critically injured.
Nearby residents informed the police. With the help of locals, Mushtaq took Muskan and Munahid to Mayo Hospital, but doctors informed him that Munahid had passed away. Muskan is currently undergoing treatment.
The Shanti Nagar Police have filed a case against the unidentified driver and begun an investigation.
