Hudkeshwar Police Charge Policeman' Son with Abetting Friend's Suicide

Nagpur, India: On Tuesday, HUDKESHWAR Police filed charges against Gaurav Pancham Chauhan, 24, the son of a police officer, for allegedly abetting the suicide of his friend Tushar Sudhir Yeole, also 24. The case involves a financial dispute that led to Yeole's tragic death.

Tushar Yeole, who lived at Plot No. 18, Vinayak Nagar, behind Besa Power House, ingested poison on the afternoon of August 21. Despite being rushed to KRIMS Hospital, he succumbed to his condition on August 24 at approximately 6:25 p.m.

Initially, the police classified the death as accidental. However, a suicide note discovered during the investigation revealed that Tushar had lent Gaurav Rs 11.70 lakh to help him start a cafe. This money came from Tushar's father, Sudhir Namdeorao Ingle (52), who sold a plot to provide the funds. Tushar also invested in electronic gadgets and other equipment for the cafe. Gaurav later closed the cafe and relocated to Mumbai, leaving Tushar with the financial burden.

As bank authorities began contacting Tushar for loan repayments, he reached out to Gaurav for assistance in recovering the funds. Allegedly, Gaurav refused to return the money, which led to Tushar’s severe depression and his decision to end his life.

Following a complaint from Tushar's father, the police have now charged Gaurav under Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita. The investigation is ongoing.
