Hudkeshwar Police Nab Thief, Recover Rs 3.62 Lakh in Stolen Goods
Nagpur, India: Hudkeshwar police have arrested a man and detained a minor for involvement in four thefts over the last 15 days. The arrested suspect, identified as Sahil Latif Pathan (24) from Ashirwad Nagar, was found with stolen valuables worth Rs 3.62 lakh.
Police revealed that Pathan, who worked for a scrap dealer, initially stole steel from under-construction sites. However, in recent weeks, he and the minor shifted their focus to house burglaries, targeting homes in the area.
In one of the thefts, the duo broke into the residence of Uday Deshmukh in Prerna Nagar on New Narsala Road, stealing gold ornaments and cash valued at Rs 1.05 lakh. Acting on a tip-off, the police tracked down the suspects, who later admitted to committing four house-breaking thefts in the Hudkeshwar area.
The operation was carried out under the direction of DCP Zone IV Rashmita Rao, with Sr. PI Dhnyaneshwar Bhedodkar, PI Nageshkumar Chatarkar, API Omprakash Bhalavi, and a team of officers including Gopal Deshmukh, Sandip Patil, Santosh Sontakke, and others.
