Husband Murdered Over Wife’s Affair; Two Held Within an Hour in Pachpaoli

Nagpur, India: In a shocking crime driven by personal enmity, a 32-year-old man was murdered in full public view on Nandgiri Road, Pachpaoli, on Sunday night. The victim, identified as Shera, was allegedly killed by his wife’s lover and an accomplice over an ongoing illicit affair.
Police arrested both accused—Rajat alias Gitesh Uke (32) and Bhojraj Kumbhare (34), residents of Naik Talav—within an hour of the incident.
According to preliminary investigations, Rajat had been in a relationship with Shera’s wife for nearly two years after they connected on Instagram. The relationship reportedly deepened due to tensions in Shera’s marriage, fuelled by his addiction problems. When Shera discovered the affair, he allegedly assaulted his wife, which enraged Rajat.
Determined to eliminate Shera, Rajat roped in his friend Bhojraj. On Sunday night, aware that Shera was returning home after delivering medicines to his mother-in-law, the duo intercepted him near Samaj Bhavan around 10 pm.
They allegedly hurled abuses and attacked him with a knife, stabbing him multiple times in the head, neck and chest. Shera collapsed on the spot, soaked in blood. His brother rushed him to Mayo Hospital, where he died during treatment around 2 am.
Following the complaint, Pachpaoli police acted swiftly and arrested both suspects. During questioning, Rajat reportedly confessed, claiming Shera had earlier threatened to kill him. Further investigation is ongoing.
