I&B Ministry pushes the deadline for entry of Best Web Series (OTT) Award
The Best Web Series (OTT) Award's entry deadline has been extended by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry from August 25 to 6 p.m. on September 4 for online submissions, and until September 12, 2023 for hardcopy submissions of the series. If September 12, 2023, is observed as a holiday, the next working day will be taken into account as the application's last date of receipt.
The I&B Ministry decided to extend the deadline in an effort to allow as many Web Series as possible to compete for the prize, which seeks to recognize the creative prowess of the OTT platform, which has expanded significantly over the past two years.
The Best Web Series will be selected by an esteemed panel made up of figures from the entertainment sector, and the winner will receive certificates and a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh at the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI).
The web series must be an original work that was either commissioned or produced in order to be eligible for the award. It must also be an original production that was shot in any Indian language. Furthermore, the series ought to have been co-produced, licensed, or bought specifically for OTT distribution.
Additionally, from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2022, all episodes of the entry (web series/season) must have been made available on an OTT platform in order to be eligible for the award. On the websites of the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), IFFI, and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, additional information regarding prize eligibility is accessible.
