Imamwada Police Arrest Shop Thief in Major Theft Case
Nagpur, India: The Imamwada Police have arrested a 42-year-old man, Rahul alias Bablu Shyamlal Shahu, in connection with a significant theft at a tailoring shop in Nagpur. The incident occurred at a shop owned by 71-year-old Dhanraj Sakharam Kakade, located at Plot No. 10, near Shahu Hospital on Medical Chowk to Jatarodi Road.
According to police reports, Kakade had secured his shop and left for home on August 26, 2024, at 8:30 PM. Upon returning on September 2, 2024, at 3:30 PM, Kakade discovered that the shop's shutter lock had been broken. The thief, identified as Shahu, had stolen a range of items including three sewing machines, cupboards, a cooler, a fan, a table, a sound system, various tailoring materials, and customer clothing. The total estimated value of the stolen goods is approximately Rs. 1,48,900.
The Imamwada Police, acting on Kakade’s complaint, registered a case under sections 380, 331, 332, and 229 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Shahu has been apprehended, and the investigation is ongoing.
