IMD Predicts Cloudy Skies, Light Showers in Nagpur Till April 3

Nagpur, India: The first day of April brought much-needed relief from the heat as a thick cloud cover led to a significant drop in temperature across the city. The maximum temperature fell by 5.5°C within 24 hours, settling at 34.4°C—five degrees below the seasonal average.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a warning around 5 PM on Tuesday, predicting strong winds and light rainfall. However, the anticipated rain did not occur. According to the IMD, cloudy skies are expected to persist until April 3, with chances of light showers.
Weather experts attribute this change to a cyclonic circulation extending from southern Chhattisgarh to Madhya Maharashtra via Vidarbha, along with another cyclonic system over the Bay of Bengal. These conditions have led to a noticeable shift in weather patterns across central India, including Vidarbha.
Despite the cooling trend, Brahmapuri (40.2°C) and Chandrapur (40°C) remained the only districts in Vidarbha to record temperatures above 40°C.
