IndiGo and Star Air to Stop Key Flights from Nagpur in April

Nagpur, India: Passengers travelling between Nagpur and key cities will soon have fewer options as IndiGo and Star Air are stopping their flight services from April. This means people will have to rely on road and rail travel.
IndiGo will stop its flights between Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Nagpur from April. Even though IndiGo had announced its schedule for Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar from March 30 to October 25, flights to and from Nagpur were not included. This has raised concerns about air connectivity for Nagpur.
IndiGo had started the Nagpur-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar-Goa and Goa-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar-Nagpur flights on July 2, 2024. These flights allowed passengers to reach Belgaum in just 1.5 hours. But now, these flights will stop operating from March 29. Only the Goa-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar-Goa routes will continue. IndiGo officials have not given any reason for stopping these services.
Star Air will also stop its Nagpur-Belgaum flight service from April 15. The airline received a good response, but they have stopped taking bookings for this route. This flight had been running for three years under the UDAN scheme, which helps new flights with government support for a limited time. Since this support is ending on April 15, Star Air has decided to stop the service.
Stopping the Nagpur-Belgaum flight will affect many passengers, especially business travellers who often go between these cities. Without this service, they will have to depend on airports in Hubli or Goa.
Many people are now asking public representatives to take action and restart these important flights to keep Nagpur connected by air.
