Nagpur, India: In a momentous occasion marking the construction of a grand Shri Vitthal Rukmini Temple in London, the world’s largest International Dindi has embarked on its journey from Pandharpur to London. The sacred procession, which began on Tuesday, will arrive in Nagpur today, bringing with it a sense of spiritual excitement and devotion.
This ambitious initiative has been led by Nagpur-born entrepreneurs Tushar Gadikar and Anil Khedkar, who are now settled in the UK. Khedkar is taking the lead in guiding the Dindi on its journey from Pandharpur to London. The sacred padukas from the Dindi will be available for darshan at Vishnuji Ki Rasoi in Bajaj Nagar from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm today, as informed by the temple committee's India coordinators, Vishnu Manohar and Mohan Pande.
A special 'prasad' distribution programme has also been organised, with MLC Sandeep Joshi set to grace the occasion and participate in the pujan ceremony. Renowned kirtankar Mrunmayee Kulkarni will present a soulful kirtan, adding a devotional touch to the evening. Additionally, artist Dhrupad Gade will create a live painting of the padukas alongside the Pandharpur temple, captured on a 3ft x 3ft canvas, making the event a memorable visual experience.
On April 18, the Dindi will continue its journey, leaving India and entering Nepal. The procession will travel a staggering 18,000 km across 22 countries, including China, Russia, and several European nations, before reaching London in 70 days by car.
