Interstate Thief Caught by Nagpur Police After 15 High-Profile Robbery, Seized ₹18 Lakh
Nagpur, India: A thief who spent stolen money on fancy cars, clothes, and watches has been caught by the police in Bhopal. The man, Rajnikanth Keshav Chanore (24) from Bhandara, stole from wedding houses and rich homes to live a stylish life.
Rajnikanth was not an ordinary thief. He planned his crimes well. Before stealing, he rented a house nearby to watch the area and learn about the family’s daily routine. He chose houses where weddings were happening because they were empty. On the wedding day, between 8 and 10 pm, he would go inside and take cash, gold, perfumes, clothes, and watches. He even used the family’s own suitcases to carry the stolen items. He had a helper, Pratap Urkude (25), who is still missing.
Rajnikanth’s luck ended after he stole jewellery worth ₹1 lakh from a house in Mahatma Gandhi Nagar, Nagpur, on December 24. The police checked CCTV footage and saw him escaping in a car. They followed security camera videos from nearby areas and caught him in Indira Nagar, Bhopal.
Rajnikanth admitted to 15 thefts in Chhattisgarh, Chandrapur, and Bhandara. Police found stolen goods worth ₹18 lakh, including 130 grams of gold hidden in a goldsmith’s shop. They also took away several luxury cars.
Now, Rajnikanth’s fancy lifestyle is over, and he is in jail. The police team, led by Senior Inspectors Dnyaneshwar Bhedodkar, Nageshkumar Chatarkar, Pankajkumar Chakra, and Shailesh, is still looking for his partner.
