Jasprit Bumrah likely to rest for 4th India vs. England Test in Ranchi

According to sources from Cricbuzz, India's speed demon Jasprit Bumrah will be rested for the fourth Test match against England in Ranchi. Bumrah is unlikely to travel with the squad when they leave Rajkot following their decisive victory in the third Test, despite his outstanding performance. The result of the Ranchi match, which may give India a 3-1 lead in the series, will determine whether he plays in the final Test in Dharamsala.

The action is intended to control Bumrah's workload, particularly in light of the upcoming T20 World Cup and Indian Premier League (IPL). Just before the 2023 World Cup, Bumrah made his cricket comeback following his recovery from a back-stress fracture that kept him out of action for almost a year.

His importance to the team is shown by his outstanding performance in the current series against England, as he leads the wicket charts with 17 scalps in spin-friendly conditions.

In the meanwhile, Bumrah's replacement has not yet been announced, much as Mohammed Siraj's rest during the Visakhapatnam Test. After being freed for Ranji duty, Mukesh Kumar will re-join the team in Ranchi. The focus now shifts to India's bowling arsenal as they look to continue dominating the series in Bumrah's absence.
