Jyeshtha Gauri Puja was observed to be celebrated with great enthusiasm in Nagpur

It is believed that the goddess Gauri (Mahalaxmi) will bring prosperity, health, and happiness to houses. Some cultures view the arrival of two Gauri idols—which are brought home and worshipped—as the arrival of the Dughters.

Throughout Maharashtra, Jyeshta Gauri Pujan is conducted in numerous homes during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. Gauri Avahan takes office on September 21st, 2023. On September 22, 2023, is Gauri Puja, and on September 23, 2023, is Gouri Visarjan. The day is also enthusiastically observed by Nagpur residents, who take great care to perform all the rites correctly in order to please Goddess Gauri.

The goddess Gauri is said to visit and stay at the house during this time, according to popular belief. In order to welcome the Goddess, homes are maintained tidy and new decorations are added. Puran poli and other traditional Maharashtrian dishes are also prepared during this time.
