Kajol to Grace the Opening of Khasdar Sanskrutik Mahotsav 2024 in Nagpur
Nagpur is all set to dazzle with the 9th edition of the much-anticipated cultural extravaganza, ‘Khasdar Sanskrutik Mahotsav - 2024’, starting December 13 at Ishwar Deshmukh Physical Education College, Krida Square. Bollywood actress Kajol will inaugurate the festival at 6:30 PM, as Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced during a press conference at Hotel Center Point.
Launched in 2017 under Gadkari’s leadership, the Mahotsav has become a vibrant platform for showcasing the talent of local and national artists, attracting audiences of all ages. This year, the festival will run till December 22, featuring a rich tapestry of performances celebrating India’s cultural diversity and artistic brilliance.
Opening Night Highlights
The grand inauguration will be followed by ‘Mai Bharat Hu..!!’, a captivating dance-drama by Sanskar Bharati. Over the next few days, Dr. Kumar Vishwas, a celebrated poet, will perform his mesmerizing presentation, ‘Apne Apne Ram’, from December 14 to 16.
Exciting Line-Up of Events
- December 17: Experience the vibrancy of ‘Abhang Wari’, replicating the spiritual festivity of Pandharpur’s Ashadhi Wari with 2,000 artists presenting a breathtaking ‘Ringan’ performance.
- December 18: ‘Abhijat Marathi’ will pay homage to Marathi literary giants like Sant Dnyaneshwar, Tukaram, and P.L. Deshpande, featuring a stellar cast of Marathi entertainment industry luminaries, including Mugdha Vaishampayan, Ajit Parab, and others.
- December 19: A unique ‘Instrumental Fusion’ performance will bring together North and South Indian musical maestros, including Niladri Kumar, Rakesh Chaurasia, and Taufiq Qureshi.
- December 20-22: The festival concludes with star-studded musical performances by:
- Sanam Band (Dec 20)
- Legendary singer Udit Narayan (Dec 21)
- Rising sensation Vishal Mishra (Dec 22).
Every morning from December 14 to 22, the festival will host religious sessions, including mass recitations of the Hanuman Chalisa, Ramraksha Stotra, and more. A highlight will be the ‘Manache Shlok’ recital, which aims to involve over 25,000 students this year.
Evening sessions will feature nearly 250 young talents from Bal Kala Academy, performing patriotic songs inspired by Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, dances, and dramas
To meet the growing demand for entry, passes will now be distributed digitally via QR codes, ensuring seamless accessibility for all.
The theme song and promotional clip for this year’s Mahotsav were unveiled at the press conference, with dignitaries including Padma Shri Dr. Chandrashekhar Meshram and Adv Sulekha Kumbhare in attendance.
