Kanhan Police Bust Prostitution Racket at Rainbow Lodge

Nagpur,Kanhan: Kanhan police successfully busted a prostitution racket operating at Rainbow Lodge, located on the busy Nagpur-Jabalpur highway in Tekadi. Acting on reliable information, the authorities conducted a raid on Sunday, leading to the arrest of the lodge owner, manager, and a woman involved in the illegal activities.

The arrested individuals include Manohar Chirkut Hud (47), the lodge owner from Tekadi, and Vedant Rajendra Langde (19), the manager from Varada.

Police received information about women being exploited at the lodge, located on the Nagpur-Jabalpur highway. To verify, they sent a 20-year-old decoy customer from Kalmeshwar.

The decoy approached the lodge’s counter and requested a woman. The owner and manager arranged for a 27-year-old woman from Delhi, currently living in Wardha. Once the deal was finalized, the decoy signaled the police by giving a missed call.

The police team immediately raided the lodge and found the decoy and the woman in Room No. 2. The woman revealed in her statement that the lodge owner would call her for such activities, charging customers and assigning rooms.

A case has been registered against the owner and manager under Sections 3 and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956. Both have been arrested, and the woman has been sent to a rehabilitation center.

Senior Inspector Rajendra Patil led the operation, along with officers Rahul Chavan, Roshan Bawankar, and a dedicated team including Harish Sonbhadre, Swati Chavan, Amol Nagre, Mahesh Bisne, and Ashwin Gajbhiye.

This successful raid underscores the police's commitment to combating such illegal activities.
