Leopard Cub Rescued from Water Tank in Parseoni, Search for Mother Continues

Nagpur, India: A young leopard cub was rescued after it accidentally fell into a fish tank in a field in Parseoni tehsil. The forest department safely removed the cub and took it to the Transit Treatment Centre for medical care.

The incident happened in the Parshivani forest area, where the cub is believed to have wandered away from its mother while searching for water. It accidentally slipped into the tank and was unable to get out. Locals spotted the cub and quickly informed forest officials.

Forest officer Anil Bhagat alerted the rescue team, which included forester Prashant Kolhe and former Wildlife Board member Kundan Hate, along with team members Bandu Mangar, Chetan Barskar, Swapnil Bhure, Komal Gajbhiye, and Swapnil Dongre. They carefully lifted the cub out of the tank using a large shovel and rushed it to the treatment centre. The cub is now safe and receiving medical attention.

Meanwhile, the forest department has started searching for the cub’s mother. Officials hope to reunite them soon and have asked locals to report any leopard sightings in the area.
