Crime Branch Busts Interstate Gang Stealing Diesel from Truck Drivers in Vidarbha

Vidarbha, Gondia, India: The Gondia Crime Branch apprehended two members of an interstate gang that threatened truck drivers and stole fuel from their vehicles. Police also confiscated goods valued at Rs 56.14 lakh, according to a police source.

According to reports, Pradeep Motilal Yadav, a 36-year-old truck driver from Azamgarh district in Uttar Pradesh, filed a complaint with the Duggipaar Police. He stated that while transporting iron ore from Surjagarh to Raipur in his truck (MH-40/AK-2557), he stopped near a petrol pump close to Nainpur village on National Highway 53 late at night.

During this time, four unidentified assailants arrived in a four-wheeler. One of them reportedly climbed onto Yadav’s truck and threatened him with severe consequences if he did not comply. The group then allegedly stole approximately 175 litres of diesel valued at Rs 16,100 from Yadav’s truck.

In response to the complaint, the Local Crime Branch (LCB) team, under the direction of SP Gorakh Bhamre and led by In-Charge PI Dinesh Labde, quickly took action alongside the Duggipaar Police.

Using technical information and descriptions provided by the complainant, the team located and arrested the accused: Himanshu alias Puttu Rajkumar Vishwakarma (19), a resident of Nainpur, and Salman Bashir Khan (27), a resident of Deodara.

During interrogation, both suspects admitted to their crimes. The police also confiscated two Innova, cash, and other items, totalling Rs 56,14,900. Authorities are now searching for their accomplices and investigating their involvement in similar incidents.
