Long-Awaited Wadi Fly-Over Opened, Motorists Breathe Sigh of Relief
Nagpur, India: Motorists on Amravati Road can finally breathe easy as the newly constructed Wadi fly-over has been opened for traffic. The Public Works Department (PWD) decided on Wednesday to open the fly-over without waiting for a formal inauguration, a move welcomed by commuters.
The PWD informed the Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court about the fly-overs opening and mentioned that the official inauguration would take place once approved by the concerned ministers.
On August 27, the PWD had assured the High Court that the fly-over would be opened by September 15. The Wadi area has experienced years of traffic congestion during the fly-over’s construction, and residents now expect significant relief for motorists.
The 2.4 km long Wadi fly-over was part of the Rs 478 crore Amravati Road Traffic Improvement Project (ARTIP), which also includes the RTO fly-over on Amravati Road.
