LPG Cylinder Price Hiked by ₹50; Fuel Rates Stay the Same

Nagpur, India: The prices of petrol and diesel will remain unchanged despite a ₹2 per litre hike in Excise Duty announced by the Government on Monday. This decision comes at a time when global oil prices have seen a sharp decline.

Amit Gupta, President of the Vidarbha Petroleum Dealers Association (VPDA), confirmed that the increase in Excise Duty will not affect retail fuel prices. In Nagpur, petrol will continue to be sold at ₹104.02 per litre, and diesel at ₹90.59 per litre.

However, domestic LPG consumers will face a price hike. Oil marketing companies have increased the price of a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder by ₹50. The new price stands at ₹904.50, up from ₹854.50.

The revised LPG rates will be effective from April 8 and will apply to all domestic users, including beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) as well as non-subsidised consumers.
