Maharashtra Launches Chief Minister's Vayoshri Scheme for Seniors
Nagpur, India- Maharashtra has introduced the Chief Minister's Vayoshri Scheme to support senior citizens aged 65 and above. This initiative aims to improve their daily lives by providing financial aid to buy essential aids and equipment and to support their mental health through specialized centers.
Eligible seniors will receive ₹3000 directly into their bank accounts. This money can be used for purchasing items like glasses, hearing aids, wheelchairs, walkers, commode chairs, and other aids.
To apply, seniors can visit their local Primary Health Centers (UPHC) for a medical check-up. Health camps will be held every Wednesday at these centres under the Nagpur Municipal Corporation. The application process can be assisted by Asha workers from the Municipal Corporation.
