Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana: Free Treatment Uplifted to ₹5 Lakhs

The Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana is been initiative that aims to provide free medical treatment to the citizens of the state. Under this scheme, the treatment expense limit per family has recently been raised from ₹1.5 lakh to ₹5 lakh per year, ensuring medical coverage for the people.

The scheme was introduced to ensure that every citizen in the state has access to quality healthcare services. It provides free treatment for various diseases and medical conditions, giving families relief, particularly in critical situations. Devendra Fadnavis, closely monitors the progress, so that the aid reaches the potential citizens. 

From July 1, 2022, to August 31, 2024, around 10.73 lakh patients have benefited from the Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana. The government has invested a total of ₹4356.12 crore during this period. This substantial financial aid highlights the government's dedication to improving public health infrastructure and ensuring that no family is left without adequate medical support.

Eligibility to get benefits from this Yojna: Candidate must be below the poverty line and under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana. Family of Weaker Economic Section. Annual Income below Rs. 1 lakh, and must be BPL card holder. Should have permanent Resident within Maharashtra jurisdiction. communities like SC, ST, and OBC are eligible for this Yojna. Farmers, agricultural laborers can apply. Families with Antyodaya, Annapurna, yellow, or orange ration cards are eligible.
