In a significant announcement in the state assembly, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde declared relief measures for farmers, addressing their economic struggles. The state government, in a bid to support rice-producing farmers, has announced a substantial bonus of INR 20,000 per hectare.
CM Shinde highlighted the challenges posed by natural disasters such as droughts, excessive rainfall, unseasonal weather, floods, and hailstorms. Recognizing the plight of around 600,000 farmers deprived of debt relief, the state government will extend the benefits of debt waiver. Additionally, a task force will be reconstituted to prevent farmer suicides.
The announcement by CM Shinde is anticipated to provide solace to farmers grappling with various agricultural difficulties. Praful Patel, the Member of Parliament, played a crucial role in advocating for these measures, emphasizing the need for immediate assistance to farmers facing crop losses due to unpredictable weather.

Dr. Fukey further stressed the importance of the bonus announcement for rice-producing farmers, marking a substantial step toward the betterment of around 81,000 beneficiaries.
