Major Announcements by CM Shinde for Farmers in Maharashtra
In a significant announcement in the state assembly, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde declared relief measures for farmers, addressing their economic struggles. The state government, in a bid to support rice-producing farmers, has announced a substantial bonus of INR 20,000 per hectare.
CM Shinde highlighted the challenges posed by natural disasters such as droughts, excessive rainfall, unseasonal weather, floods, and hailstorms. Recognizing the plight of around 600,000 farmers deprived of debt relief, the state government will extend the benefits of debt waiver. Additionally, a task force will be reconstituted to prevent farmer suicides.
The announcement by CM Shinde is anticipated to provide solace to farmers grappling with various agricultural difficulties. Praful Patel, the Member of Parliament, played a crucial role in advocating for these measures, emphasizing the need for immediate assistance to farmers facing crop losses due to unpredictable weather.
For rice-producing farmers, the bonus announcement holds substantial importance as it directly addresses the economic challenges associated with rice cultivation. CM Shinde’s proactive approach is seen as an empathetic response to the distress faced by the farming community.
It's worth noting that Praful Patel, always standing in solidarity with farmers during crises, played a significant role in advocating for these relief measures. His efforts, along with the collective commitment of the government, reflect a positive step toward comprehensive agricultural development in the state.
These relief measures, amounting to INR 44,278 crores, have been pivotal in supporting farmers during the economic downturn. Dr. Parinay Fukey, former Cabinet Minister, expressed gratitude to the state government for addressing the challenges faced by farmers due to unforeseen weather conditions and ensuring timely financial support.
Dr. Fukey further stressed the importance of the bonus announcement for rice-producing farmers, marking a substantial step toward the betterment of around 81,000 beneficiaries. He acknowledged the state government's commitment to overall development and its continuous efforts to serve the interests of all citizens.
As Maharashtra navigates through these challenges, the government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Shinde, reaffirms its commitment to the welfare of farmers and the holistic development of the state.
