Major Drug Bust in Nagpur: 7 Arrested as SSB Seizes 105g of MD
In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Social Security Branch (SSB) of Nagpur's Crime Branch has seized 105 grams of MD (methylenedioxymethamphetamine) from a local hotel. This successful operation resulted in the arrest of seven individuals.
Acting on undisclosed intelligence, the SSB launched a targeted operation to intercept the illegal drug trade within the city. According to police sources, the MD was smuggled into Nagpur from Mumbai and was being distributed at a hotel locally.
Following the received intelligence, law enforcement authorities swiftly raided the hotel premises, catching the suspects in the act of distributing the illicit substance. All seven individuals involved in the illegal activity have been apprehended.
Charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act have been filed against the arrested individuals. The investigation into the matter is currently ongoing as authorities work to dismantle the drug network operating within the region.
