Man Arrested for Attempting to Harm Wife in Ajni
A 50-year-old man, identified as Ravindra Kachruji Munghate, was arrested by Ajni Police on Thursday morning for allegedly trying to harm his wife using a cutter. The incident occurred at their residence in Plot No. 24, Bhagwan Nagar.
Munghate and his wife, Meena (46), were reportedly engaged in a dispute over domestic matters when the situation escalated. Around 7 am, Munghate allegedly became aggressive and attacked his wife with a cutter following an argument.
Meena sustained injuries from the altercation and was quickly taken to Government Medical College & Hospital for medical attention.
This is not the first instance of violence between the couple. Four years ago, Munghate was convicted for a similar offense against his wife and served a three-year prison sentence.
The arrest came after a complaint was filed by the victim's daughter, Dhanashree Somesh Patel (20). Following the complaint, the police have charged Munghate under Sections 307 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code, in addition to Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act.
The authorities are investigating the matter further to ensure justice for the victim and to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
